Translation of Danish grades
The 13 scale
Marks according to the 13 scale have been given throughout the Danish educational system at all levels from primary school and masters degrees until 2006. As from autumn 2006, it was replaced by a system with only seven levels instead of the earlier with ten possible levels.
In the 13 scale, the highest mark 13
is given in rare cases, when the student is better than best
. The scale used from 2006 has 12 as the highest and best mark, and it does include a special mark for exceptional performance. Also, its frequency shall be 10% out of the national total of all marks given in Danish primary and secondary schools.
