What others say about Uffe | He charmed many a woman's heart in his youth with his black hair, deep black eyes and great wit. During the Nazi occupation in 1940-45, Uffe was often halted by mad German soldiers who believed him to be a Jew. Uffe wanted to do a medical carreer, but was forced to Law School, and later driven to make a good carreer in different Ministries. Among others, he wrote the tax laws that torment us other Danes nowadays. He always kept himself in good shape; only when I advanced to the A team in swimming in 1976, I began to outrun my grandfather Uffe and carry heavier suitcases than him. He is an example for us all that it is never too late to listen to one's heart and take fate in one's own hands. Grandson Erik January 31, 2001 |
