I'm finishing my PhD dissertation. I've been working at it at the Dept. of Slavonic Studies, University of Aarhus, and Department of East-European Studies (Østeuropainstituttet), University of Copenhagen.
It is about future constructions in the Balkan languages (Macedonian, Bulgarian, Serbo-Croatian, Greek, Albanian, Rumanian, a. o.). The outset is diachronic and synchronic, for the time being analysing the diachrony of Balkan Slavic and Greek.
It gives me a feeling of flying on my own wings. But I am low on funds, so I'm job-seeking these days.
I have my own personal prohibition against roller-skating at the Department of East-European Studies (Østeuropainstituttet), University of Copenhagen, where I used to roam as a PhD student in 1996-2000.
I play the guitar in all styles, periods, and possible languages. But Bach, Sor, and Carcassi are the best!
My daughter was born to my guitar music, and I intend to repeat the success with our son who is expected in July-August 2002.

I converted to continentalism on 1 Dec 1997, when I moved to Jutland. I live in Silkeborg, a town that has everything save a university, an airport and a Macintosh dealer. It was hard to me, who'd only been living in capitals or big cities before, but I've come to like it over here. People are quite nice. I even ran for the mayor post during the last municipal elections on 21 November 2001. I got two votes. I was an outsider, a Copenhagener.
What I like about the Copenhageners is their metropolitan contactability, talkativity, and intellectual nerve. And that goes for all from University graduates down to plain bums.
But you'll find much of the same in other big cities.
Befathering Synnøve, born 23 Jul 1999 at 06 h 13 m in Århus.
She was a golden nugget at 3970 grams. Mummy was screaming for 56 hours before Synnøve got out. Synnøve's first word was "Hi!". Second word (aged 15 months) was "Far!" ("Daddy!").
See her pictures! (in German, Danish, Macedonian)Befathering Balder, born 1 August 2002 at 22 h 06 m in Silkeborg, Denmark.
Another golden nugget, born 30 grammes heavier than Big Sister. Smooth birth. Easy boy, at least in the daytime. Eats with aggression, grows like a bullet out of a gun pipe. Wakes up from 4 to 16 times per night. Diary in English , på dansk & no-pyccku .
Like any other Dane, I am a member of quite a bit of organisations. Some are:
- Group founder and leader at Seti@home (the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence at Home) from August 2001.
- Member of MacBruger an independent Danish Macintosh user group since 1999 (I think!).
- Chairing the kindergarten Akacien that my daughter is attending.
- and some more organisations with no special positions.
Born on 1 March 1960 at 00 h 10 m in Copenhagen.
I'm so old that I see the names of teachers, class mates, and
relatives in the press every week.
I run a maillist called "Grinebidere" (Gigglers) with jokes and fun in English and other languages. Write me if you want to subscribe and note the desired languages (i.e., Scandinavian, English, German, French, Russian, South Slavic) and whether you also want pictures. You'll get a maximum of one joke per day.
